Creation Museum

I had a much needed long week-end with four days off, from the hectic world of work and juggling cleaning, cooking, & caring for the elderly, which many think is boring but I'm a witness to say it is in no way boring. There is not one day that is the same & the unexpected is always expected. Anyway I got away for a quick mini vacation.

Sweetman & I jumped in the car & took a road trip to Petersburg Ky, to visit the Creation Museum. If you ever get the chance it is worth every minute you spend there & especially kid friendly with alot special effects that kids can get into(I'm a kid at heart) so I enjoyed it alot. The Museum presents a unique experience with a walk through time portraying significant , life-altering events from the past, starting with creation, and illuminates Biblical truths, something our children are being taught in today's schools. We took a walk through the garden of Eden and saw Adam & Eve with all the animals, even dinosaurs!!!! Plus the tree of life with all the beautiful forbidden fruit.

I really enjoyed seeing a huge partial replica of Noah's ark & learning how it was built, never realizing that to build such a huge boat in Biblical times would have taken at least 100 years to make it leak proof & to accommodate all the animals. Many hands were needed to make this ship sea worthy, with God's directions.

Ken Ham is the founder of this museum and the emphasis is placed on Genesis, being that if we don't take the first book of the Bible serious and literal then the rest of the Bible is negated.
We listened to a lecture by Bodie Hodge who spoke on the 7 C's which are, Creation, Corruption, Catastrophe, Confusion, Christ, Cross, & Consummation. This also was presented in a way that children could grasp the meat of the talk with understanding that the Bible is fact and the world is finding out that it can not explain away the truths found in Biblical history.
Plan to spend the whole day to be sure to take it all in, don't worry about eating there is also Noah's cafe or grill with prices that will fit most pocket books. Not any worst than McDonald's or BK, with better food for you to enjoy & for the coffee fans there is cappuccino!!!
It was a good little get away for us, even after the strange event that we had getting into the motel we stayed at I won't name names here, but we had checked in and taken all our stuff up to the room then left to find something to eat. Upon getting back we found our room key the kind that look like a credit card would not work, so down to the office sweet man trudged because by now we are weary from the drive well fed & ready to crash. Only to have the desk clerk come back with him to see what the matter was & wouldn't you just know it the battery had died from inside the door so not even a master key would open it and to make matters worst the only person who knows how to fix it is out & about somewheres & semi retired to boot!!! To make a long story short we waited in the lobby for about 3 hours to locate this person & when he did arrive he ended up breaking into the room with a screw driver to get the door open. We did get a different room & a discount but I don't think we will stay at this chain of motels again...Oh but it only added to our adventure which we seem to have on most of our trips somehow or nother.

That sounds like a place that we need to take the children. Also, I love the motel story. That just cracked me up! I bet when you saw him open it with a screwdriver, you said Wow-Ray the maintenance man could have done that then you could have had two and half extra hours of sleep in another room. LOL

The next time we make a trip back home, I would love to visit that place. It sounds like you have a frustrating time with the hotel door. That was crazy!

Thanks for the descriptions. We want to get over there sometime soon. I hear there are some Christian B&B's in that area.
