WFMW

I keep a folder of neat ideas that I have run across over the years and once in awhile I actually try them out.

This is about dryer sheets that you put in your dryer to soften clothes. Now, I don't use the sheets in the dryer because I heard or read somewhere that they are bad for your dryer, something about plugging up the vents. But I do keep a few on hand for these other uses...

Stick one inside old books or photo albums to keep the musty smell away.

Collect cat hair. Rub over the area with a dryer sheet and it will magnetically attract all the loose hair.

Freshen the air in your car, Place a sheet under the front seat.

Eliminate static electricity from venetian blinds. Wipe the blinds with a sheet to prevent dust from resettling, you can dust the t.v screen too.

Deodorize shoes or sneakers. Place a sheet in your shoes overnight, and they will be sweet smelling in the morning.

I'm sure you can think of other things to do with these neat little sheets. Use your imagination, no telling what else they can do. Go visit, Rocks in my Dryer for more tips and ideas.

Good ideas - I've used a few of these, but will have to try it out for cat hair.

Great tip about the tv/blinds--if they can remove static from clothes, it stands to reason that they'd do the same on the tv! Thanks!

Great tips! I have put one in the linen closet between the towels before, but I haven't tried some of the other tips. Thanks!

We also use them as an insect repellent-we find that the cheaper the dryer sheet, the better the protection. Rub a little on your clothes and stick it in your pocket. We have gone about two years with no mosquito bites!!

I like using used dryer sheets as dusting rags. They work great!
(I'm a librarian, and I don't recommend putting dryer sheets in a book. There is an oily substance in the dryer sheet that will damage the books over time.)

Great list! Dh's car is a little smelly from a camping trip the boys took a while back (that guy odor is really lingering). I'll have to try dryer sheets and see if that helps.

Thanks for sharing!
