Biker Sunday

This past Sunday we did something a bit different. Our local paper carried an article about a church nearby that was having a biker Sunday and there was an open invitation for ANY biker to attend.
The message was good , The Pastor spoke about having balance in our lives just like bikers need balance on a motorcycle.

He talked about the probability of having and accident the more a person rides the greater the chance of a crash, then worked that into being ready to die. Everyone will some day die, but are we ready??? There are only two places we will go Heaven or Hell. Then the salvation message was given. They do this every year in August and offered anyone who wanted to stay a good lunch. Everyone was very nice and we felt welcome. After lunch we geared up and went on a 100 mile ride to Jones ice cream parlor in Baldwin. Not all the bikers went on the ride but there were about 15 of us.
The pastor and his wife led the group through some winding country back roads, some we had never been on, so it was great to find some new territory to travel with less traffic and great scenery.

We met some new friends and enjoyed the beautiful weather. Just goes to show you not all bikers are bad. Posted by Picasa

Sounds like a great day.
PS - I know some pretty nice bikers!

You are so right when you say "not all bikers are bad." Sometimes even the riders who look kinda scary are really okay guys. It is what is on the inside that counts.

Hello! I'm going to focus on something other than the biking, being so surprised that you spoke of Jones' Ice Cream in Baldwin. Been there and done that, many times. Let's see, 100 miles for you...makes me wonder where you are. We are in Muskegon now but spent the first 30 odd years of our lives in the Newaygo, Croton, Fremont, White Cloud area. It was surely a beautiful ride for you down those country roads!

Some of my best friends are bikers and I agree 100% that not all bikers are bad. In fact, I'd say the majority of bikers are great people and the minority are the bad bikers. I'm just giving my 2 cents where I wasn't asked. :)

I think it is good for a pastor who rides to have a biker ministry. They do that around here at some churches. It is a good outreach. Glad you had a wonderful Sunday to ride.

That is awesome! Sounds like a great day! Nope--not all bikers are bad. Some just like to look 'bad'. But they are teddy bears.
