I know, that I know, that I know

Some faiths teach that good works and prayer to saints will somehow help one get to heaven, or to a place that will keep you until you have earned you way into heaven after death.

I really don't know all the ins and outs of this kind of belief, but what I do know is that one can be certain of their destiny before dying if you believe in the son of God as your savior and repent of your sins.

My bible tells me in; 1 John 5:10-15, The one who believes in the Son of God has the witness in himself; the one who does not believe God has made Him a liar, because he has not believed in the witness that God has borne concerning His Son. 11. And the witness is this, that God has given us eternal life, and this life is in His Son. 12. He who has the Son has the life; he who does not have the Son of God does not have the life. 13. "These things I have written to you who believe in the name of the Son of God, in order that you may KNOW (as a fact, my added emphasis) that you have eternal life. 14. And this is the CONFIDENCE (boldness, again my added emphasis) which we have before Him, that, if we ask anything according to His will, He hears us. 15. And if we KNOW (as a fact) that He hears us in whatever we ask, we know that we have the request which we have asked from Him.

I also understand that some beliefs do not take the Bible as literal fact so that in itself is a problem but all we can do is pray for these who are sadly misled to have the scales removed from their eyes and their hearts to be opened to the real truth so they will have the same blessed assurance as I have that when I die I will be in Heaven with my Lord.

The benefits of Wisdom
Proverbs 2: 1-11

My Child listen to what I say,
and treasure my commands.
Tune your ears to wisdom,
and concentrate on understanding.
Cry out for insight,
and ask for understanding.
search for them as you would for silver,
seek them like hidden treasures. Then you will understand what it means to fear the Lord,
and you will gain knowledge of God.
For the Lord grants wisdom!!
from his mouth come knowledge and understanding.
He grants a treasure of common sense to the honest.
He is a shield to those who walk with integrity,.
He guards the paths of the just
and protects those who are faithful to him.
Then you will understand what is right, just, and fair,
and you will find the right way to go.
For wisdom will enter your heart,
and knowledge will fill you with joy.
Wise choices will watch over you.
Understanding will keep you safe.

This is so rich with comfort, assurance and freedom to me. My prayer is for everyone to have this same understanding and I Know (as a fact) that Jesus would want everyone to grasp this. If only they would read their bibles, and not listen to mans teaching.

I find that it is harder to believe in some of the man made rules of, if you do this, or if you do that, you will enter into heaven, than it is to believe in a living saving savior Jesus Christ, who died on a cross for my sins, He paid the bill, He prepaid the bill on my behalf before I was born because He knew I couldn't. He has paid everyone's bill but they don't believe it.
My heart bleeds for those who don't know the truth and live with the unknown of where they will spend eternity.

I have nothing to add to that! Just Amen!

Amen!!! It is so simply. Man is the one that makes it hard and the flesh wants to "earn it" and it cannot be earned. Salvation is a free gift, but like any gift, if you don't accept it, then it does not become yours.

these days (last days?) i've been thinking of neighbours, friends and loved ones, whose hearts i don't know? who are they trusting in? what do they believe ... i want to take each one and say "Jesus is the ONE ... only Jesus ... believe in Him ... " ... and with some of them - i have done that ... with others, they don't want to hear any of that ...

bless your heart for this post ...
