WE SWAM, WE SHOPPED, WE LAUGHED, WE ATE

We finally did it, spent some quality time together. There's nothing like spending time with family to catch up and just have some good fun together. We have all been trying to find some time to have this little girls get away but school schedules, sports and work kept getting in the way.
My oldest daughter set up our hotel accommodations and it turned out to be more than adequate. I think we were the only ones on the third floor so it was quiet once we settled down. Our room was very comfy with all the amenities and plenty of sleeping space for us all.

The pool was ours for the evening and we spent about 2 hours in the water. Everyone in the family is a water bug so we took advantage of our pool time. We bounced between the pool and the hot tub, and even spent a little time in the workout room. We did water aerobics led by yours truly, which was a hoot. challenged each other to underwater handstands, and who could hold the longest dead mans float. What better place to sing but in the pool so the girls gave us a demonstration in their singing exercises, it was hilarious to watch but you had to be there to appreciate it. They have beautiful voices with perfect harmony. We heard samples of hymns they have done with the school choir in Swahili and Hebrew.

Of course shopping was on the agenda. We spent the entire day in stores, it was shop till you drop and you can see the results in a full shopping cart. Which embarrassed the teens to have their mom push it though the mall but that was easier than lugging it in our arms it all over the place.

Us older girls laughed like school girls and did funny stuff that women our age don't usually do, but it was all good clean fun. I took this picture of our reflection in the mirror just to see if it would work and it did. Funny Huh?

Then we ate. The girls slept in while we ate breakfast at the hotel, which was a full hot meal, so they were more than starved when we finally stopped for lunch at Red Robin. They had never been there before and they said felt like they were at an amusement park. The hamburgs are enormous and steak fries are endless so that was just right for two hungry girls.

I had so much fun with my girls and felt so blessed to have both daughters and two of my granddaughters to spend some time with. I have one other granddaughter but she couldn't make it. Maybe next time. You can bet there will be a next time. We were kidding about what we could do on our next overniter, maybe the mall of America, or another visit to Ikea, there are endless possibilities, because were family!!!.Posted by Picasa
