Culprit of sorts

We have been plagued lately with something or someone digging little holes in our yard at night. Sweetman seems to suspect that it's raccoons searching for worms, so he set out live traps to see if we can catch whatever it is.

Well, the first little critter he caught was the neighbors big cat and he was so happy to get out of the trap that he leapt up and over the deck fence so fast you could hardly see it happen. That cat has not returned I might add.

As you can see here is our next victim, these little critters are not very aggressive & not very smart either, it was so passive that even after opening the cage door to release it, it slowly moved out & didn't fully realize it could walk away for just a few minutes, before waddling off into the woods. Sweetman has decided not to set the trap out again since we can't seem to attract the right critter.Posted by Picasa

Nancy, we have the same problem, and I am sorry to tell you that is a skunk that makes those holes. .Yup we watched them do that in our yard at night. So there is your answer:)

Karla was having the same problem and they ended up with a skunk in their live trap. That causes a whole other problem!

Oh the holes problem, I have the SAME exact thing going on, front and back yard and so do most of the people on this base.

I honestly don't want to know what is making them, I might just soil myself LOL

We had an possum end up in Mack's kennel one night. Mack didn't appreciate it and woke us up with his barking.
That was not fun trying to get him out of there- he was aggressive and just hissed at us.
We did end up being victorious though.

Oh but he/she is so cute. Nice picture! I've heard the opposite. I've heard opposums are aggressive.

Yepper, have to watch out for the skunks. Tom has a story of a skunk in the trap too. It is pretty funny!
