Leisure Saturday

It was a leisure Saturday for me, I usually scurry around starting all kinds of house cleaning jobs at the same time when I have a week-end off but today I had this laid back attitude & enjoyed my coffee, made french toast for breakfast, & then started the cleaning. But I had only one agenda in mind, get all the bedding, including the mattress pad off the bed & wash every last piece. The pillow shams, the comforter you know the whole sch-bang.

I can't believe that it actually took me the entire day to get this one job accomplished but it did.. of course we had to make a run into town to the store, get our tax papers together & ready to go, get gas & the oil changed in the jeep, it has this little beep beep noise to alert you when the next servicing is needed & won't stop till you have it done, which will drive you nuts every time you turn on the ignition so that was definitely on the list to do today before I lost my mind listening to the beep beep. Back to the subject, where was I? oh yeah, I just got the bed put together in time to climb into it for the night, but everything smells so clean & sweet, & the comforter is all fluffed & puffy, Ahhhh

Anyway it was a good day & being home puttering around running errands, having no real direction or structure. Such a welcome difference than jumping out of bed, into the shower, dress, do hair, makeup, grab a cup of coffee & run out the door, drive half asleep on roads that don't get plowed until after you get to work, & appear fresh & cheery when you walk in the door at work. Leisure Saturdays are great... Sundays off are pretty good to, I get to go to church which happens every other week for me, & there is nothing like walking into my church & hearing the Word, fellow shipping with other believers & listening to what the Lord has to say to me, that is breath of fresh air to my spirit & gets me prepared to face the work week.

Don't get me wrong I love my job & the people I work with & care for but week-ends off are pretty special.. worth writing a post about, for sure!!! What is your favorite way to spend a day off?? Cooking? baking? shopping?? I like to get ideas in case I need to try something different. Have a blessed week-end y'all.

I think that those of us who work weekends enjoy the ones we have off, more than those who have every weekend off!
You always do come in cheery and fresh and I'm always glad to see you.
I like to do the same things as you on my days off. Having a day like that makes me feel quite productive!
Enjoy your Sunday.

All my life I worked every other weekend so I know how a leisure Saturday can be sooo SPECIAL. I now have weekends off and will NEVER go back to working them, They are all special:)My leisure ones I too will putter and maybe rearrange pictures on the wall, clean out a drawer or closet, try a new recipe, etc... Enjoy:)

I think Mari's right that those of us that have every Saturday off take it for granted.
I have to admit- it's kind of nice to just be home today. I love going to church, but there's something special when church is cancelled and you have nothing at all planned for the day except spending time together with family.

Oh, I'm sure when you get weekends off they're great. Nothing like just being able to do whatever you want. Enjoy it!

My favorite day off would include going to Memphis shopping, or cooking for a holiday.. I love those sort of days.. Have a great week ahead!

I would like to point out that those of us who have every Saturday off have worked the whole rest of the week!

Sometimes I'd love to have a day off in the middle too!

And I love that feeling of crawling into clean sheets. Mmm.. so soft and good-smelling!
