Another wintery day

Well, here we are again another wintery day with more snow & wind predicted. Storms in the south leaving many homeless & freak tornados everywhere. Not good, not good at all. My heart goes out to all of those who have gone through this awful weather & now face unknowns about where to live, injuries, lost family members.

I truly think we are into the last days as the Bible teaches us. 2 Timothy 3:1 says This know also, that in the last days perilous times shall come .We are hearing more & more about these perilous times, we are seeing it first hand in our own country how many are disreguarding the truths of the Bible & replacing that for their own laws as fits a life style. So many lost souls don't even want to hear what the Bible has to say.( 2 Corinthians 4:4 in whose case the god of this world has blinded the minds of the unbelieving, that they might not see the light of the gospel of the glory of Christ, who is the image of God. )

Last sunday the our pastor preached on how we as believers in Jesus are to be the salt & light to the world of the unbelieving. We have to keep in mind that salt can be contimated with sin, we have to remain set apart & clean. We have to let our light be lumious & shine for those who can't see. All of this is not easy, so we must prepare with personal preparation by reading the Word, talking to Jesus through prayer, participation, becoming active in church evangelism, spreading the word to the ears that don't hear or have not been exposed. (Romans 10: 17 So faith comes from hearing and hearing by the word of Christ.) We can only do this through the power given to us by the spirit. (Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Him who strengthens me.) Trouble & times of trial bring oppertunity for us as believers to talk about Jesus or to set examples by life style that may not be the in thing to do according to the lastest fads, or simply by boldness and presenting the gospel to someone in our lives that we know is lost. We don't have all the answers but maybe we can plant a seed and let the Holy Spirit use that to grow into something beautiful.

Take heed the Bible tells us this world as we know it will come to an end in the last days. Revelation 3: 11 I am coming quickly; hold fast what you have, in order that no one take your crown.

Blogging has been for me a way to put down in writing some of my thoughts & my thoughts today have been for those who are suffering in some way but can find peace on knowing a Savior who cares for them. He cares for the small and the mighty. Psalm 8:6 Thou dost make him to rule over the works of Thy hands; Thou hast put ALL things under his feet. Notice it says all things even the ants in the ground the birds of the air, the giant beast of the unknown in our lives. We just need to trust in Him & to be weary of the things of this world.
Stay warm & cozy my friends on the another blustery day of winter, keep in mind that, this to shall pass.. do any of you have neat ways to talk about the Lord to your family members, or someone at work?? There are some pretty creative ways to do this & if you have a good way to witness let me know... in the mean time, Keep Lookin up!!!

I'm home safe and sound waiting for Mark to get home. He just called and said the roads were bad.
I'll be anxious to see if you get any good ideas on witnessing ideas-I would love to have some more ideas to have in my head.

A great witnessing tool is to LOVE!! show the love of Jesus, smile, a hug, doing good, being kind, pray with someone.Tell them Jesus loves them:)Always be open, ask God, He will give you the words at the right time, He's good that way:)BUT... Do this to the unlovely, they need our love. the ones we judge, the lost, etc,, ok, enough preaching...
Great post Nancy:)

this all goes along with what i have been studying lately and what the Lord has been speaking to my heart about ...

sharing my faith ...

last days ...

reading His word - and applying His word in my life ...

how i try and share is just with my life & daily experiences ... even sharing about leo's physical pain, and the hope of a pain free body in heaven ...

i think God is lighting fires in our hearts ... so that we can burn bright righ to the end ... that is my prayer ...

How true all that is, Nancy. I enjoyed your post. I hope Mari's husband is better.

it is harder to witness to people we know sometimes than to those we don't know...It is important that we always live our faith...because we are the only Bible that some people will ever read...
thank you for this post... it makes us think about the importance of being prepared for the last days,
Mimi

What a great post Nancy with lots of good thoughts.

I think that first the best thing we can do is live the Truth. If we aren't living as Christ, then no matter what we say, we won't be believed. If we live differently than the world, showing love, and always, always speaking truth, then our message is believable.

Thanks for this post!

That is so sad about all those people that experienced tornadoes. Who would have thought this time of year that there would be tornadoes?
It's so true that we have to be a witness for others. Our actions speak much louder than our words.

This was a great post, Nancy and I agree 100%.

I heard a message this morning that fits your topic. Remember the story of Jesus asking the Samaritan woman for a drink of water? The Samaritan woman said, (paraphrased) "What is wrong with you? Where have you been? Don't you know that Jews are not supposed to talk to Samaritan?" Otherwise, Jesus reached out to her in a kind way and as he did, they talked. She confessed things she didn't even MEAN to. Then Jesus told her about herself and she said "I met a prophet who told me all I ever did."

The preacher was saying, we need to reach out and be kind. . . set the stage and be ready.

Now, this is my thinking:
Maybe we are not verbose and have not confidence in that area of witnessing, but we can be on the team. . . we can be nice and (as on a basketball team) set someone up and pass off the ball as in team playing so that the one under the basket can plot it in. That would be like being kind then inviting them to church so they can hear the gospel.

I like your style, girl! Keep up the good posting! I also enjoyed the comments.

Stay warm if you can.

You have a great post. I live in one of the areas that was hit by the tornado. My home was not (thank God). The tornado came within miles of my home. Thanks so much for dropping by my place. I have really enjoyed my visit here. Have a nice day and God Bless! (and stay warm)
