Life verses

Over at Mel's World she has written about what your life verse is, I didn't have to think on this to long because I have had the same verse since I first rededicated my life to the Lord. Revelations 3:20 "Here I Am! I stand at the door and knock. If anyone hears my voice and opens the door, I will go in and eat with him, and he with me". God spent most of my life knocking on my door but I didn't open it for many years but when I finally did He was still there waiting for me & welcomed me. I'm sure glad He kept knocking.

Another verse is one my heart truly believes will take place in my entire family. Like most families there are many who do not know the Lord but this is my prayer for each member to come to know Jesus and to have a relationship with Him so that they can share in the eternal future of heaven & know the forgiveness of sins only given as a gift from the grace of God. I cling to the verse in Acts 16:31 "And they said believe in the Lord Jesus and you shall be saved, YOU and YOUR house hold" I take that to mean every member in my family whether they live with me or not..

I could go on with many more but these are the three verses that always come to mind almost on a daily basis and stand out for me, & I pray them daily.

I try not to forget from where I came, I can't change the past & all the mistakes I have made, some pretty stupid, some out of rebellion, some just because of pride or wanting to make myself look good, many just because I thought I had all the answers. so Philippians 3:13-14 has a place in my list of favorites, "One thing I do, forgetting what lies behind and straining forward to what lies ahead. I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus."
God is working in my life everyday & He will not stop until He takes me home, He has alot of work to do but I am so Blessed just to know the Father is working in my life & drawing me closer to Him everyday..

THose are great verses with wonderful promises. Like I said to Mel, I have never thought about doing this. I have several favorite verses but not a life verse. I thnk I need to study a little and choose one.

Like Mari, I have never had a life verse. There are just two many verses that have such profound meaning that I cannot pick only one.

Philip. 3:13-14 is a verse that I have to quote to myself quite often because I tend to be remorseful about past mistakes. As you have said, God also is still working in our lives and he isn't finished with us. I, too, am glad that the Father is working in my life and drawing me closer to Him everyday.

My life verse is Philippians 4:13 I can do all things through Christ Jesus who strengthens me. I have many favorites, but that always gets me THROUGH anything!!

I read that about a life verse too. I had never thought about that before. What a great idea. I love your verses. Good thing God keeps knocking...

those are good verses for sure ... and don't you find that different times in ones life, brings out a different verse? one verse i say to myself in the mornings is "this is the day the Lord has made, i will rejoice and be glad in it!"

Those are great verses, Nancy. I have not thought about a "life verse" either. Will have to think on that. I love them all. I do love the one about the salvation of our children, and I remember that one frequently.

I'm so glad you dropped by today! Any friend of Mari's is a friend of mine...

Great post today! And check out that SNOW! I can't imagine that here where I live. It was cold today, but I still went out with only a long sleeve shirt and warm sweater. (well, and pants, of course.) :) I don't know whether to be jealous or grateful!

I would enjoy the opportunity to get to know you... stop by anytime.

Wonderful verses! Thanks for sharing them.

I'd love to see pictures of your twin great-grands - great grands? I think I got too late a start to have great grands before I'm too old to blog any more!

I love the story about the thunder and the snow - fun strangeness!
