New bathroom Floor

Here are before & after pictures of the bathroom floor in our lower level, I refer to it as the lower level because we live in a bi-level & don't really have a basement. Anyway, it was in need of being replaced only because we had a slight leak around the toilet & there was a growing stain mark that was getting progressively larger. Here you see the old floor, the stain is not visible in the picture however.

We didn't want to spend huge amounts of money in this very narrow and long room so checked out the remnants at a local flooring store. We found one but it was actually more expensive than purchasing the exact same flooring off the roll & getting just the size we needed.

Most of you know that my husband is very capable of installing just about anything after all he did work several years as a maintenance man but he did inlist the help of one of our friends who recently did just the same in his own home. It looks like a small job but anyone who has done this knows it takes a certain amount of prep work, just to get to the nitty gritty. It took a couple of days to complete but they did a superb job.

Here you see the new flooring completed. I think it turned out very nice & like it much better than the old. We even got one of those new fangled rapid flush all, swoosh toilets & you better be well off the seat before you flush or you just might loose some body parts. I think it has its own sucking device somewhere within the inner parts. Personally, I think toilets are one of the stupidest looking things one must have in their homes, however it is better than an outhouse!!!!

Nancy, I love the new floor. It really is nice. After having to use an outhouse for many years of my life, I would say any indoor toliet is supreme.lol. Congrats to your husband on the great joy he did. My husband is a carperter and he said it looked great. Have a good week. We'll be thankful for toliets together. connie from Texas

Looks great. That kind of stuff can be tricky to install. Dave did manage to put in ceramic tile but it took a while.

Oh Nancy - I am laughing out loud over here about the new fangled toilet! Such a word picture you paint! I love the new fllor - it looks really nice!
I must say though, that in the last few weeks it would appear that you are "living large"!

I'll never forget when Arianna was about 3- we went to the mall. Well she had to go potty so we went into Younkers bathroom. She went and while she was still sitting there, the toilet flushed automatically. She just freaked!
After she got calmed down it really was quite funny to think about!

Wow Nancy! I love it! Isn't amazing what a change that makes? We put that in our bathroom too and it looks just like tile only it clean up easier. (and it's a lot cheaper...) We got our remnant for $20. What a deal!

But unfortunately we did not get a fancy new swooshing toilet! Or maybe that's lucky so I don't get sucked in! :)

OH MY GOODNESS, Your new floor is just beautiful! I wish I could see that new toilet. I never heard of one being so aggressive! LOL!

Thanks for stopping by my blog. Come by again!

I don't think we have as much snow as you do. It began snowing here in Lancaster County, PA this morning, and it has not accumulated much yet. They say that we may get up to 2 inches. The roads are very slick. There was a seven car pileup on 283. Now you have heard the weather and traffic report! Have a good day!
