We took advantage of the summer like weather and took another week-end jaunt. It couldn't have been better weather if we had planned it ourselves, but when God has a hand in it, just stand back and relish in it.
We saw an article about an October fest in an small town north of us so decided to check it out. They had a live turkey weight guessing contest, a soup judging, an apple press grinding out fresh apple juice, a flea market and a lot of other stuff going on that we didn't even get to, most activities were provided by locals in the area that we visited. Alot of the money earned going to good causes like breast cancer awareness or just for equipment for the local school.
We took rides through the tree lined streets and marveled in the colors of fall, having a hard time thinking fall with the temperatures in the 80's,but at the same time noticing the sweet smell of rotting leaves when ever we
drove through the forests and hearing the constant sound of leaves
fluttering to the ground, Reminding us that it is fall indeed.
These pictures are just a few of the beautiful sites we saw. We climbed the dunes that over look Lake Michigan and once again were not disappointed with the beauty the sun plays on the water and in the clouds. The camera captures only a smidgen of what the naked eye can, but these help the mind to keep the memory fresh.

oh my goodness, I love the picture of the sun coming thru the clouds! I always like to think of it as God shining His love down upon us :)
Wow Nancy! Those are beautiful pictures. All those places sound fun too - I love going to different places, wandering around, seeing the sites, shopping. (Unfortunately, Aaron doesn't like those things as much!)
what a beautiful drive...
you should frame any or all of the pictures... and put them in a hallway...
they would certainly brighten it up...
