Ok, this isn't really a picture of me but this is how I felt today at work... Yup just a bit frazzled.
It wasn't really a unusual day but it seemed like the faster I thought I was going the further behind I got, if you know what I mean. Everyone wanted me at the same time and I was getting stretched in 10 different places at the same time.. The phone was ringing off the hook and for what ever reason someone wanted to talk to me, important or trivial....
Then of all days when I had a bunch of orders to get into the computer the whole system shut down, crashed, went ka put, ziltz, na da. Everything comes to a stand still when this happens, of course there is always the old way to do things but who can remember how that was.?? I tell you sometimes I think the computer hates me.
Anyway, I did survive and the bottom line is I still love what I do. Taking care of the elderly is not boring in anyway shape or form. They are precious old people who deserve the best we can give them and I hope I can at least provide my best no matter how hectic it gets or even when the computer wants to shut down.
I wasn't the only one who was feeling the crunch today either so at least I didn't suffer alone. The poor office manager (who by the way is super) was having a day much like mine and we shared a few laughs through out the day. Nothing like having a comrade to share frustrations with.
Oh, by the way the Director of Nursing finally put a huge, Do Not disturb, sign right next to me so when ever someone came by and said " do you have a minute" I just pointed to the sign.... Yeah, that worked sort of.....

i wonder if the library will get to be like that? i wonder if we'll have "book breaks" rather than coffee breaks ... *grin*

Oh I love hearing about your day... I was Office Manager for a nursing home chain for 23 years... and boy do I remember those days....
And I am sure that the "Do Not Disturb" sign did not work either....
you are doing a wonderful service...
and I pray for you that you will have an occasional Un-Frazzled day....
Thanks ladies for the sympathy, I really do enjoy my job and expect some/many to go this way, but I also enjoy the calm days at home.
Saija, I can't imagine the library to get to hectic but you never know.
Mimi, I would love to hear about your nursing home days sometime.
I laughed so hard when I read that Pat hung a "Do Not Disturb" sign next to you! That's funny. Those are the kind of days when it feels extra good to go home and sit down right?
