Promises of God we can count on

The sermon this past Sunday was all about the promises of God. I'll just condense it a little but you will get the message.
God is a promise making God, He gives us blessings, peace, joy, goodness, forgiveness in Jesus, and eternal life.
God keeps every promise
God wants us to test His promises
Gods promises are actuated by patience and faith.
God is always with me
God is always in control
God is always good
God is always watching out for us
God is always victorious
We can win with God on our side!!!!
Heres a few scriptures to help you along.
Psalm 118: 6-7
Romans 8:31
Romans 16:20
1 John 4:4
Philippians 4:13

Stressed out with sensory overload?

Do you realize that we are already one week & a day into the new Year!!! How does that happen so quickly??? I tell you the older I get the faster time flies and I know many of you have said the same thing.

Were into the really cold deep freeze in many parts of this country right now, how does that measure up to global warming fanatics?? I personally think God is showing us His Divine sense of humor to all of the talk of global warming destroying our planet. I also think there truly is a divine plan already in place for this planet.

Its been a hectic sensory overload week, to much going on around us, not enough resources or time to complete tasks that need to be done in a days work. In my line of work sensory overload affects the elderly much like it does children, they scream, become demanding, sometimes cry, or act out in behaviors that are not acceptable.

As the caregivers we need to maintain some sense of normalcy no matter what we are experiencing ourselves. We have to remember that as Christians we are being watched by the world and are expected to keep it together. There is no promise in the scriptures that tell us we will be free from stressful days or trouble in our lives or sensory overloaded days or weeks or even years. Scriptures tell us just the opposite that we will experience trials, people will fail us, days of stress will befall us all.

The promise that Christ has given us is: "Come to me, all who are heavy laden ( stressed out burnt out or sensory overloaded) and I wil give you rest." Matthew 11:28
How many want rest ???

Cry out to the Lord and He will give you that rest that is so needed. We can face the stressful days with the promise of help from the Lord, his promise is new everyday and all we have to do is leave the burden at the foot of the cross.

I lift up my eyes to the hills-

where does my help come from?

My help comes from the Lord,

the maker of heaven and earth.

He will not let your foot slip-

he who watches over you will not slumber;

indeed, he who watches over Isreal

will neither slumber nor sleep.

The Lord watches over you-

the Lord is your shade at your right hand;

the sun will not harm you by day,

nor the moon by night.

The Lord will keep you from all harm-

he will watch over your life;

the Lord will watch over your coming and going

both now and forevermore. Psalm 121

Now how awesome is that promise???

When everything is crumbling in around you and the world is crushing you in, God the maker of the universe will personally come to your rescue. He will give guidance, wisdom, peace and strength to endure what ever overload you may be experiencing.

The world is swirling in a downward spiral but the promises of the Lord are firm and we need to hold tight to the hand of God.
