Not to sure how well you can see this, but the other day Sweetman was looking out into the woods and there was our old friend the pileated woodpecker.
He hasn't been around for quite awhile and I've been told that they are pretty illusive and don't often visit populated areas.
Its always fun to catch a glimpse of these guys in the wild. They have huge anvil shaped heads with beaks that can drill major holes in the trees. Their whole bodies measure about 15 to 18 inches so they are not a little bird by any means.
Fun to have this visitor come by now and then.
