After my hectic work week I took Sat. to do some detoxing from the norm. I don't usually do much baking from scratch simply because I don't have the time or the energy to spend in the kitchen. However, when I woke up today is was chilly and fall like and decided that today would be a great time to make something from scratch. Since it is harvest season and thoughts go to pumpkins and that sort of thing, it was a good time to try this pumpkin spice bar recipe I got from my step-daughter.
She recently made them for my mother in-laws 91st birthday gathering and they were yummy!!!
I need something to take to our small group Bible study on Sunday evening so these should do the trick.
Of course you have to start out with fresh ingredients so here are the beginnings. We always use real butter at this house none of that fake stuff called margarine. She recently made them for my mother in-laws 91st birthday gathering and they were yummy!!!

Sure smelled good with all those spices mixing up nicely in the bowl. The nice thing about these bars is it makes a big batch to feed a bunch of people.

And voila!!! This is the finished product, the house smells so good. I also have a pumpkin pie in the oven as I write this so we will be set for desserts for a few days as well. My husband has this thing called a sweet tooth and he always likes it when I bake, he is one of those people that has to have a little something sweet after the evening meal.. I'll let you know how this tastes and if it is as good as it smells I will post the recipe.
