De Christmasing the house

I spent the day taking the rest of the decorations down & getting it all boxed up & back in their respectful places to wait until next year. How come it seems like I had more boxes to put away then I had to start with?? I didn't even get all the stuff out this year & tried to keep it tastefully placed so not to appear to cluttered or over done.

Sometime this summer I plan to get the whole works out & sort through it all, keeping only what I will use & donating the rest, or handing it down to other family members.

So what plans do you all have for New years eve?? Each year we have a small dinner party with several of our close friends we have made from church. We always have a good time & every year is a bit different. Dinner is of course the highlight with good conversation, & food. Later we often play a few table games & have some good laughs acting like kids. We even make it to midnight & watch the ball fall on t.v. in New york times square, have a toast with a little bubbly (non alcoholic of course) & give my sweet man a kiss. Times square, that is one place I would have no desire to be on New Years eve, but its fun to watch all the people. At least that was last year we'll see how we do this year. I don't have to work so it shouldn't be a problem to stay up.
Normally if we were at home we would spend a quiet evening with the t.v., computer, or a good book, some snacks & probably go to bed before midnight. I'm like the rest of you & prefer to stay off the roads, with all the amateur drunks out there it can be dangerous. What ever you have planned enjoy the end of another year & Thank God for the blessings He has given you in the old one & for all the blessings He wants to give in the New one....Happy New Year to all
