I don't know about you but I have always found it hard to memorize scripture, I could tell you in my own words what a verse said but not word for word as it is written in the Bible.
Until attending my Tuesday morning Bible study on Luke this year with some very creative leaders teaching us. They came up with these cute little cards to help us memorize John 15:1-17 as complementary verses to learn by heart. Each week we move on to the next verse and each week we review all the verses and say them out loud
I keep the verse for the week sitting on the table next to where I do my Bible reading and every morning and evening rehearse the verses over in my mind. I also have them posted up on the board at work so I can review them there as well. So far noone has protested and hopefully others have also read them.
Another little tip that has helped many of the gals to remember the verses is to write down the first initial of each word, a sort of cheat sheet but makes your mind recall the word without actually seeing the whole word.
Heres an example:
I a t t v a m F i t v d
I am the true vine and my Father is the vine dresser.
Simple huh??
Of course we have done this prayerfully and ask the Holy spirit to give us a hunger hide the word in our hearts. Its working for me and I'm thankful that I can finally say I have memorized most of these verses. Its such a good feeling to know that it can be done. How pleasing it much be to the Lord to see each precious women learning the heart of God and hiding it in our mortal hearts.

Good for you! I do best in memorizing if I can put it to a tune. When the kids were little I had a series of cassettes that were for kids, that had verses set to music. We played them every night as they were going to sleep. We were talking last night about it and Heather remembers a lot of verses from that. Actually I do too!
That is wonderful, Nancy. I know the Lord will bless you for that. Happy Easter!
I love this, Nancy. Thanks for the idea.
That is a neat idea. I too have problem reminding things. I'm going to try your suggestions.
Have a blessed Easter - the Reason for our JOY! He is alive!

I have trouble memorizing, too, but you seem to have found a plan that works! God will bless those little cards you put up at work! Who knows how they are touching hearts!
Have a joyful Easter weekend!
