Faith, what does that look like??

Our sermon today was from Hebrews 11, I like that book. Our pastor is young and has a wife who is battling a courageous battle with cancer. He is especially passionate about his faith and wants us to get it.
Hebrews 11:1 says, "Now faith is confidence in what we hope for, and assurance about what we do not see"
Did you know the word Faith is mentioned 20 times in chapter 11? I think its important.

Faith is grace activated.

We were given two questions: What is my most pleasing response to God?
God sees the believer through the lens of Jesus
That is assurance, that is hope, that is conviction.

The second question was: What does my response to faith involve?
Faith is believing the word of God, ALL of it, not just bits and pieces that make me feel good, And not twisting it to conform to MY liking.
Faith is seeking Him, and having a relationship with the one true living Lord. Not just on Sundays but everyday. Romans 10:14 " How, than, can they call on the one they have not believed in? And how can they believe in the one of whom they have not heard? And how can they hear without someone preaching to them?
Faith is throwing off sin, sin robs us of the joy. Isaiah 7:9  "If you do not stand firm in your faith, you will not stand at all."
What is the weight or sin that keeps you from running towards Jesus???
Talk to HIM get it right and you can know the peace that surpasses all understanding, by having faith in the work that Jesus did on the cross.

Salvation is not based on past life experience but on true belief and faith in the one who has taken our sin and nailed it to the cross with His life.

Appreciated your post, as usual :o)

As I find my faith truly being tested with our daughter, Suzette's situation I am very thankful that I have HEARD and HEARD over the years and that I have learned, by smaller experiences, to walk that faith out. I pray for the strength to do so now....day by day.

I truly believe my daughter IS HEALED but we have to walk out that circumstance "seeing those things which are not as though they are."

I can't hardly take it all in how God chose me to part of his wonderful family of God.
