You know what they say about storms

Last night we had a hum dinger of a storm, I usually sleep right through most of them but not the one we had last night!! It happened about midnight all of a sudden the wind kicked up and the lightening and rumbling started. Not so unusual but then...Holy cow, it really started to blow, tree limbs crashing down, the umbrella on my patio table flew into the window and got hung up on the roof of the house banging back and forth. I thought it was going to break the window, it knocked the humming bird feeder and that crashed to the deck, then the rain, torrential sheets of it pouring down. The thunder was deafening and the lightening streaks were so close I thought our back yard was going to be crispy fried. One of the thunder claps was so close and loud I literally jumped off the bed. We lost power for a short time and this morning I had to drive around a downed tree, thankful there were no power lines down.

I tend to like a good storm but last night I really didn't need that one because I had to get up really really early to get to the hospital to help support/encourage/ease some fears and frazzled nerves for my oldest grand daughter having a C-section for her first child, my great grand child. One of my first thoughts when the storm hit was, Oh No, she'll go into labor and it will complicate the whole process. Her last ultra sound showed the baby to be to big to deliver normally and the C-section was scheduled. But she didn't go into labor and this morning a healthy 9 lb 15 0z, chubby pink perfect little boy was born. My daughter is so excited this is her first grand child and technically it is my first great grand child, even though I do have several more through sweetmans side of the family.

The storm left our yard in a tattered mess of branches, twigs and leaves, the umbrella is toast and some of the flowers I'm afraid done for the season. All is good with baby Orion, mom is doing well and daddy is so proud. He was by her side through the whole process and bonded immediately with baby as mom needed tending to in the OR immediately after he was born so daddy held him while that was taken care of.
I'm so grateful to the Lord for this new life and will be praying that God will guide and direct these new parents to lead a God fearing life style.

It sure was a crazy night! We lost power here too and a big limb came down off the neighbors tree.

What a cute little boy . . . well, he isn't really "little" is he? I'm glad your place wasn't damaged any more than it was.
