November beauties

As I was cleaning leaves out of the flower beds I discovered this beauty of a primrose hiding under a bunch of oak leaves and just waiting to be discovered. Made me think of God who is always waiting in the back ground, not interfering with our lives but always quietly waiting for us to allow Him to be invited if only we uncover Him.

My devotional read this morning was from Anne Graham Lotz, she is an amazing orator, and writer she gets to the point and makes no apology for the position she stands for and that position is God first in everything. She was writing about the biggest fight of life and that is to pray as if we are pouring our hearts out to a very close friend, we don't need to give Him details He knows them already so we can simply tell Him our troubles, joys, dislikes, temptations, wounds, anything that is laying heavy on our hearts and He will listen. We don't have to use elaborate words or fancy talk, He only needs to hear our heart. She said something that really impacted me, it was a little statement about how, pride disguises you to your self and others. That is so true don't you think?
Pride is the a culprit that gets in the way, it leads us away from God.
Pride takes us down the road of wanting beauty, fine things, big houses, fancy cars, better jobs, success, popularity, smart kids, so many things that are only temporal and one day will be gone.
Its so hard to remember this is not our home and the one we will have in heaven will be far better than anything we can imagine here.
"In that day you will ask nothing of me. Truly, truly, I say to you, whatever you ask of the Father in my name, he will give it to you. Until now you have asked nothing in my name. Ask and you will receive, that your joy may be full. James 16:23
Prayer brings us close to the heart of God and refreshes our lives that out does any thing that this world can offer us now.

The primrose is gorgeous and I really like your application. You could be writing devotional books!

The only place I ever saw a primrose was in Walmart. I have never seen one in someone's yard before so maybe they were all covered with leaves.

You are so right. God is right there waiting for us to invite Him to be a part of our lives. I woke up at 4:30 this morning so I got up and spent sometime reading the Psalms. I found some amazing stuff.
