Good friends

We may not always see them but you know they are always there...good friends are like that.

God seems to know when we need a boost and today I had two friends do simple little acts of kindness that spoke to my heart louder than the roar of a lion. God watches over us and even brings others into our lives to help us in times of need.

Work has been challenging to say the least lately, its not the patients, or the general staff but there are some people in positions of elevation that just seem to love to ridicule, demean, and make life a little miserable. I'm not just speaking for myself but for most of the licensed staff as well. But for some reason I seem to be the target person, and if it spares others the same treatment so be it, I have broad shoulders and I know who I really work for.

Today after yet another little "confrontation" a friend walked in the door, smiled at me and handed me several little packets of Starbucks individual packets of instant coffee, (she and I share a love for good strong coffee). No explanation, no long conversation, "just these are for you and walked back out". A touch from God....

Then tonite a short phone call from yet another friend just letting me know she is praying for me and others at the Nursing Home because she understands how difficult it can be sometimes, she has experienced it first hand. Another timely touch from God...

The hand of God has touched my heart today to let me know He is watching over me and others.

Psalm 34:7 The angel of the Lord encampeth round about them that fear him, and delivereth them.

How wonderful is that? I love those God touches and it also remind me to look for ways that I can be His instrument.

I am so glad to hear about how God lets you know he sees all. Little touches are like angels God sent to lift us up above the troubles and trials of this life.
May God bless you dear heart and under gird you with his strength and may you feel his loving arms around you .

I like how you realize who you are actually working for. When I worked as a secretary for our church I had that "motto" too. You can't always please everyone but if you know you are the doing the best that you can and the Lord is pleased - well what else do we need? But I know it would be nice if we could please everyone won't it. God bless.

Friends are wonderful. Like you say, they seem to know when you need to know someone cares. My husband and I are disabled and we have some friends that call or come by just at the right time. They seem to know just what we need and have helped us be able to stay in our home. I thank God for them every day.
