Look who came to visit our feeder!!!
Sweetman snapped a picture of this pileated woodpecker visiting our back yard feeder just the other day. It's not often you get to see these big guys so we consider it a privilege that he decided to drop by for a peck or two of the suet. I wouldn't want to have him take a peck at me that beek is big!!!

WOW! Beautiful! We LOVE our bird feeder hanging from our deck and get MANY visitors each day, but you're right...this one would be a treat!
I Nancy, Those birds are so pretty. We had one but I haven't seen lately. I did find out that if there is a board about the same width as the feeder that's nailed to the bf hanging down then the woodpecker can eat up straight because he has something to rest his tail on. It's just what I was told.lol....Kae

That is really a big, pretty woodpecker!
So that is where the big guy went. He visited us before Christmas. I was alittle worried cuz he likes carpenter ants for supper. Enjoy him, we sure did. Isn't he big!!! About 17 inches our bird book said.
