A FUN FREE DAY

Today was a totally fun day for me, I got to spend most of the afternoon and evening with my daughter. Something that rarely happens because of work schedules, or other such things. Anyway we ventured out on a snowy afternoon just to wander the mall and enjoy each others company. We laughed, sighed, giggled and made faces at some of the latest fashions, smelled all the new and some of the old smells. We looked at boots and shoes that neither one of us can afford. We wandered through stores with the latest accessories to make your home fashionable and comfortable. We returned home to eat delicious chili that sweetman made and had more good conversation. It was good to see her eat she is skinny!!! We enjoyed every minute.

Some of you know that this daughter has been going through some very tough times and making decisions that have altered her entire life. No matter how old our children get they will always be on the fore front of our minds and hearts when they go through things that make our hearts sad. She has made some changes lately that are costing her plenty but is moving in the right direction. God is answering so many of the prayers I have prayed for her that is it amazing. She is learning to lean on God and to put her circumstances in His hands. Her finances are a mess but she is thankful for the job she has and will eventually work her way out of some debt but will most likely lose her house. She is driving a car that has something wrong with the heater but can't afford to get it fixed, still is happy to have a car to get her to work and back.

The best thing of all is she has found Jesus!!!

She is absorbing all she can from the Bible sweetman has given her and has become a sponge learning what she can to keep her on this track. She is attending church twice on Sundays and going to a bible study on Tues. The scales are falling off and she is learning discernment in relationships she chooses to have. Her heart has been broken, her life rearranged, she spends most of her free time alone, has no money except for the bare essentials, but today was a blessing for us both to be together and have just a fun day!!!

That is so awesome! I'm sure she is so thankful to have a mom who is walking right along side her through the trials and even better that she's now walking through this with Jesus!

i'm so happy for you, that i'm teary ... even though i've never had children - my younger sisters (age wise, 2 could be mine) are the kids i never did have ... so their joys are mine ... their sorrows are mine too ... but i'm sure that is magnified double for you real moms ...

good days are treasures ...

to have children follow the Lord is an amazing blessing ...

(hugs) to you!

Nancy, What a great day you had with your dear daughter! How wonderful that she has given her life to the Lord. Now she is lapping up the Word of God like milk to a kitten. How precious! You are a good mother and her dad is a good dad to make such fine chili as a great ending to a wonderful day of shopping. I love those kind of stories!

Thanks to you all for the encouraging words. I hold fast to the promises of our Lord in this matter of babes in Christ even if it is my child in middle age.
