Oh the Fun and the Food

Ain't nothin like family getting together for fun and food. On my side of the family we had our Thanksgiving/Christmas all at once this past Sat.

This year we have a baby in our midst, my youngest brother is now a grandpa!!! It seems so funny to think of him as a grandpa. This picture is of my sister-in-law and my brother cooing over their little grandson, isn't that just precious??? This is the first baby in our family for sometime now so he was the center of attention.

I was only wishing that my parents could have been there to meet this new member but both are with the Lord. Kind of a bittersweet thought.

We managed to pass the little one around most of the afternoon until he got so tired of us he just had to take a nap.

We ate so much food that here you see some of them just sitting with that dazed look. I'm sure they are thinking.. UGH, I shouldn't have eaten that second/third plate of food!!! Of course there was dessert too....

We each buy a non gender gift to place in the center of the room & my other brother who is very creative comes up with some kind of a game to play to pass out the gifts. This year we each held onto a gift & he read the Bible story of Christ birth, each time he said left or right we had to pass the gift in that direction. There was a lot of laughs, giggles, & snorts, & some of us don't know right from left which complicated the whole process. It was like controlled chaos for part of the day. It helped to burn off a little of that food we devoured.

Sounds like a great time. I totally understand that glazed over look- that 2nd plate just kills you!

What a precious baby. It would be hard to put him down. We've played games like that too and I think the kids loved it more than the adults. Kae

Great picture. Isn't it nice having a baby back in the family - now if only a certain niece of mine would get working on that - we'd have a young'un in our midst as well!
