Just part of nature

The big lake can one day be a boiling huge pond of white water, crashing against the pier without mercy and with in hours be something so serene and beautiful you can't believe that it is the same water.

We love to drive by the lake at random times just to see what is going on at the beach front. The camp ground at the State park is empty now but you see all kinds of campers through the spring, summer & early fall, some very elaborate and some simple, but always a few hardy folks walking the boardwalk, no matter what the weather is.

We are so Blessed with gorgeous sunsets which we often take for granted. Since we visit the beach so much I often hear comments of other people from other States say they have never seen such beautiful sunsets.

I have a cousin who lives in California & her husband once told me it was impossible to have a lake so big that you can't see across it, of course he has never been to Lake Michigan & lives inland in Ca, so all they have out there are manmade reservoir's or very small lakes.

Never take the beauty around you for granted no matter where you live...

Those are beautiful pictures of the lake. We really are blessed to be so near to it. I'm sorry to day that I'm so used to it that sometimes I take it for granted. Thanks for the reminder.

Great reminder! Lake Michigan is beautiful any time of the year or season. There is Gods beauty all around us. . .even in the city..I think.. . I love the country:)

Having lived both inland and oceanside, I would think that the only difference really between Lake Michigan and the ocean as far as breath-taking beauty and high reverence would be that one is salty water and the other is fresh. Each has it's own beauty and it's own underwater life. I think sometimes folks in CA don't realize that the USA is a very vast and beautiful, country that goes beyond the state line. :) At least most of the Californians I met anyhow. (NOT ALL, just most!)

I wish I would remember to take my camera, as you do, when I drive by to take a look at what's happening. You are right, it is always something different.

I do love our lake - it's so much nicer than the ocean.
