We started out with this 420# plain ole' huge pumpkin.
And ended up with this, after the man got done carving it and having his little daughter as an assistant painting it last night during the evening meal at the Nursing home. I was told it was going to be the Peanuts theme but as you can see there was a change in plans and it appears to be the wizard of Oz theme.
Here we have the Lion, the Tin man, Dorothy, and the scarecrow on one side on another side you can see Dorothy and Toto, the cyclone is that dark area to the left of Dorothy. And ended up with this, after the man got done carving it and having his little daughter as an assistant painting it last night during the evening meal at the Nursing home. I must admit it isn't what I had pictured in my mind but then the residents seemed to enjoy going in a looking at it from time to time and visitors were impressed with it.
Some one asked what it is sitting on, I think there are some saw horses with a couple of heavy pieces of plywood.
Tomorrow we will have kids all dressed in their costumes come in to trick or treat from the residents, it is quite and ordeal. The residents will line up on both sides of the hall with bags of candy and the kids walk through the middle taking candy from each resident. I remember one time we had a one or two confused residents who refused to give up their candy it was pretty funny.

as long as you have fun that is what counts.
How wonderful to bring the little kids in.

I just posted my pumpkin post too. It didn't look like we expected but the residents enjoyed it.
Who did this for you guys? Kae
That is one pumpkin that tells a story, I guess! Hope the kids and residents have a good time.
Very intersting pumpkin carvings. Have a great weekend.

That is a funny looking pumpkin. At least it won't roll off the table! I've never seen a 'carve' job like that. Interesting.
Happy Sunday.
