I seldom go to the fast food restaurants except for a quick drive through for a cup of senior coffee on my way to & fro, but when March rolls around I get to know the personnel at the McDonald's drive through up close & personal. OK, maybe not that well, but I do get my fair share of the wonderful shamrock shake.
Its not even March yet but a few days ago Sweet Man brought one of these delightful taste bud ticklers for me. He's such a great guy!!!
I like to savor them so I stick it in the freezer & pull it out in the evening after dinner & eat only a few spoons full of the frozen wonder, then stick in back in the freezer to be enjoyed the next night. I can enjoy a medium size for about four days this way....I think I'm fooling my self thinking its less calories. I have a head start this year & have devoured my first already & March isn't here yet. One awful year I almost forgot until the end of the month & oh, that was a sad time. You can only get these for a limited time & once they are gone that's it. Maybe I should learn how to make my own but they won't be near as good or as fun to eat just for this one short month each year.

Heather and Melissa stopped and got one of these on the way home from school. Heather is doing like you do and it is in the freezer, being enjoyed in small increments. Laura loves them too. I don't really care for them - I must be wierd, huh?
Oh.. I need to ask our McDonald's if they are going to carry those..
Sounds really good..
Have a great evning..
I must be wierd too- I just find them ok.
I have to say I am very impressed that you can make it lasts that long in your freezer!
I've never had one...I guess I should LOL
Never heard of these but I'll have to give them a try. Sounds good and I love things like that.
Susan
I love those things but have never frozen one. Now I have to head off to Mc's to try this!
I don't think they do green shakes at Mcdonald's around here. The kids would love a green shake!
You got me on these years back!! Yes they are good! I have to go get one but I will drink it down before I get it home, I just know it:)I want to try it in the freezer:)
Nancy
This is the first time I have heard of this. I will have to get the girls on over to Mickey D's.Thanks for sharing. Take Care. Lisa
Nancy - I love you even more!! I did a post last year about my love for the Shamrock Shake! Aaron and I went to McD's a few nights ago to get a sundae and SURPRISE!!! They were here already! So while we waited in line I even wrote a song to profess my love! It was to the tune of "Edelveis" and went something like this:
Once a year...
It is here...
Smooth and minty and cre-amy!
Sweet delight...
Of my life...
It's my Shamrock Sha-ake!
Yes, I have some issues, but wouldn't you agree it deserves it's own love ballad!?! :)
You are soooo funny!!! I remember you always wanting one of those. Hope you enjoy your month of shamrock shakes!
I avoid McD's like the plague, but I L-O-V-E mint so I may just have to try one!
Chick-fil-A had a mint Cookies 'n' Cream shake for a while. Ahh! And I love Starbucks' Mocha mint at Christmas.
Thanks for stopping by my blog. That's hilarious about the stye theory; I promise I haven't peed in the road! :-)
I don't think I have ever had one... but maybe this is the year...
going on your recommendation only I may just have to try it...
and I am assuming by your reaction that I won't be disappointed...
Oh this sounds tasty! Does it taste of lime? We used to have lime thickshakes here and I was mad on them when I was pregnant with #1 son (too mad I think, I was rather huge!!)
Do all McDonalds carry these? I have never seen one. I just may have to look tomorrow. I love mint. :)
