Whew, that was long

I guess I took a real blogging break, it seems like a long time since I have written any thing on this ole' blog.

I trust you all have had a good start to the new year seeing that it is already the 3rd. How does that happen anyway??? It seems like we were just starting to get wound up for the holidays & boom, its here & gone, just like that.

I rarely make any resolutions because I feel that is just a set up for failure in the first place but I know a lot of talk has been going around at work about starting new diets, getting more exercise, trying to read more or just using the time we have in a more positive way. These are all good & for the most part I guess secretly I do that in my head but never actually verbalize these out loud. Reading my Bible more will be a goal I will strive for this year for sure but I try to be practical & I do know my limits. I tend to be one who thinks best while on the move & find sitting down to quiet time very hard so that is something I need to work on for sure.

One thing I know I'm excited about is starting our small group Bible study up again this Sunday. We will be going over the the "Truth Project" which is a series of DVDs, 12 all total I believe. Its narrated, by a Professor with focus on the family by the name of Tackett. I've seen this series once through our church but look forward to seeing them again because they are really awesome with some eye opening thought provoking truths that most of us don't consider in today's world. Then having the chance to discuss what we watch with the rest of the group should make for a good mix of rich Bible study & fellowship with alot of growing time. I'm sure the Lord will be speaking to my heart as I strive to grow in more wisdom & knowledge of Him.

I just got a new pair of glasses so I should have no excuse for doing more reading, & will work on that as well. Now, for the diet part I don't do diets very well, I happen to like food pretty good so maybe I well make the attempt to do a bit more treadmill walking & when I can get my big fat behind out side & maybe do a little cross country skiing. I probably should locate the where abouts of my ski's & boots one of these days. If this is any kind of resolution than I guess I have just done that but I try not to make hard & fast promises to my self just in case I never do get around to it.
Seriously having a brand new spanking new year starting out is like getting a new lease on life to start a fresh just like the fresh start the God gave us when He sent His son to be a ransom for our souls. Its a good feeling isn't it??? Happy New Year to all.

Wow - you wrote a lot! It was all being stored up during that break. I remember when you did the Truth project in church. I bet it will be great to do with a small group and you'll get different things out of it this time.
I don't do resolutions either but would like to be more intentional and regular with my Bible reading.

First of all - you do not have a big behind - you're very tiny, so I wouldn't worry about that "resolution" too much!

Also, I'm reading a really great book right now by John MacArthur called "The Truth War." Maybe it would be something interesting to read while you're doing the Truth Project at your Bible Study.

Happy New Year Nancy!

Is the picture one you took from "your neck of the woods"? I also took a bloggy break - sometimes you just need it. Hopefully, you're ready to start again?
