oxymoron, sort of

You all know what a health nut I am, ahem, well, ok maybe not a real real health nut, but I do try to maintain what I have & stay healthy. Ok now that I've said that here's what I'm getting at. Just about every day I force myself to get on that ole' treadmill & walk for at least 1/2 hour, & here's the oxymoron part as I'm sweating away the fat & pounds are just dropping off like crazy, at (least in my mind that is how I envision things happening to my body).. I'm watching the food network on t.v & getting all those great recipes & ideas on how to make 30 minute meals just like Rachael Ray!!!! Now isn't that kinda like defeating the whole purpose of exercising? These meals are not your normal diet meals & they always sound & look so good that I have to try them & before you know it the pounds & fat that I just worked so hard to get rid of are right back on the hips & thighs... That 's the oxymoron part, does anyone else do this sort of thing..?? or maybe I have some sort of syndrome or something. I have to say in my defense that one reason I watch the food channels is because there is nothing else decent to watch, other than the real estate or weather channels. Maybe I should learn how to read as I'm walking like I have heard that some people do, but then I would probably be reading the latest recipe book. Sigh!!!

You are so funny. Think of it this way - because you walk you are able to cook some of these meals and get away with it!

I agree with my Mom - at least you're working off those recipes - I'm just piling it on and not working it off :)

I have a recumbent bike that I ride and since you don't have to hold on I can hold a book and read - the times goes by fast but I'm still tired and sweaty when I'm done!

See, but you're eating those great recipes and THEN working them off.

Me on the other hand, I just eat everything and never work it off, so I'm the one in the wrong LOL I just can't exercise, I have no motivation whatsoever.....

At least you're on the treadmill while you're watching the food network. So it may be somewhat of an oxymoron but who cares. You do have to cook for the family, don't you?

That's so funny, because I was just on the phone with my friend and she was telling me that she watches the food network while she's on the treadmill and we were talking about how that's kind of self sabotage!
I do agree though- that at least you're on the treadmill- go with the positive!

Now that is funny. You made me giggle because I can not read and work out at the same time. Just toooo much! wink* Thanks for visiting my blog. I can't wait to see your cozy corner.

I think most of us do watch Food Tv because there is nothing else on Tv. I think for me though is not a good thing. If I see food I want to eat it. lol I think they need to have a cooking light show at night :) Have Blessed day.Love ya. Lisa
