Why now?

Everyone has had a cold at some time in their lives, but I seldom ever get one, did you get that, I don't get sick... Why oh why now of all times does my system choose to take on the effects of the common cold. I ask you that? Christmas is done on one side of the family but we still have another party coming up this week-end. I tried to stay out of the mainstream of the last party & couldn't even hold those two precious twin great grandsons. It took everything I had to keep my sniveling germ infested hands off of them. Oh, I was ever so sad....But, I did enjoy them from a distance, & the food & fellowship was fun.

For the last 3-4 days I have had a head full of something that will not come out causing much discomfort, I can't breathe. Every bone in my body is aching, & I think a mack truck has run over my face. I do believe my sinuses are involved here. Something else I have not ever had the privilege to experience, I do feel so sorry for any of you who struggle with sinus issues because I for one do not want to get this again..

I hate taking those cold tablets too, they make your head feel like you are somewhere else & have no clue who you are. This is not good !!! Did I mention the cough?? well during the day it seems to leave me in comfort, but as soon as the sun goes down, yeah, you got it.. hack, hack, hack. What is up with that anyway??? I think it has something to do with the atmospheric pressures at least I think I read that once.

I'm not one to complain but like I said I rarely get sick so when I do it seems like it is the thing to do, complain, moan & groan, hack, hack, snivel. I'm thankful for those puffs with the lotion, my nose is so sore I think one layer of skin is gone. Having said all of this I may have blown, ( a little play on words here) this a bit out of proportion, or given the common cold way to much credit for making one miserable but it makes me feel good put it all down in writing. Any whoo, this to shall pass & it will only be a bad memory, in the mean time I will endure with as much grace as I can & hopefully not pass it on to any one else. Maybe it will be the one & only cold I shall have for the next few years, ya that's it!!!

Bless your heart! I've got a little congestion myself. I sure hope we both are better real soon. I've been using Ziacam nasal gel and taking Advil Cold and Sinus. It has helped.

Hugs!

If you have fever, you should go to the doctor and have them take a sample of mucus from your sinuses. They can then test very quickly to see if you have influenza. If you do, there is a drug you can take to lessen the effects and the duration of the illness. It may be too late, now, but you could call your doctor and see.

I do hope you get better so you can enjoy the upcoming events.

I feel so sorry for you. I HATE colds. You're supposed to get more sleep but you can't if you can't breathe. I always take Zicam but hopefully the stuff Mari brings you will help. I really hope you feel better soon. (I'm just getting over a cold myself)
