Standing on the Rock!!!

I do not ask that He must prove
His Word is true to me,
And that before I can believe
He first must let me see,
It is enough for me to know
It's true because He says its so;
On His unchanging Word I'll stand
And trust till I can understand.
I read this today in one of the devotionals that I read out of on a daily basis, & it just seemed to fitting to share it with others. It is a challenge every day for me to remember that God loves me even more than I love myself & that by faith I must hold fast to the promises my Lord has given to me. I have many family members that are not believers & I pray each day for them to be saved. By faith, I have to believe that one day this prayer will come into reality. I have many favorite verses but only a few that I call my life verses & one of them is Acts 16:31 "Believe in the Lord Jesus and you will be saved-you AND YOUR HOUSEHOLD."
Just because we are empty nester's I still consider family members that are not living with me any longer to be part of my household, so I continue to claim victory over those who have still remained out side of the family of God but will one day be included. God works in His own time zone & His own manner, not the way I would. God has worked miracles in my family time & time again & continues to make changes in the lives of those I love daily including myself so by faith I choose to believe in the mighty works of a loving, giving, saving Lord to complete the work He has started in me & my family....

What a good quote from your devotional. I read recently that faith and reason don't go together. There are lots of things we can't reason out, so we just have to take it with faith. That verse is a great promise for family members.

it is the saddest thing when those close to us don't know Jesus and what a help He can/would be to them ... and it can be the most helpless type feeling for us ...

i'm so glad that prayer makes a difference ... since God loves them so much more than we ever could ...

i pray that i get more love for those "outside" and wisdom how to best share and/or show Christ in me ...

blessings on you!!

That's a great reminder Nancy! To stay determined and have hope and faith and claim the victory over the situation. It's often hard to remember that when we start feeling frustrated about it.
