A big favor!!!! :)

I've noticed on some of the other blogs that there are requests to lift up different people in prayer, so I would like to impress on any of you that may be so inclined to pray for a young lady who is battling leukemia. She & her husband are members of my church & in fact he is a very talented & gifted young pastor who is wise beyond his years. Her name is Stephanie Tovey & she is right now in the Ann Arbor Medical center for stem cell transplant. They are both in their mid twenties & have been an inspiration & godly example to many young people through this whole ordeal. I know she would like to receive cards or if that is not possible just saying a prayer on her behalf would be wonderful. She has a carepage in her name & you can go to that to check out her progress at http://www.carepages.com/ you will have to sign in & then type in her name. Her address while at the Medical Center is:

University of Michigan Medical Center
Bone Marrow Transplant Unit
1500 E. Medical Center Drive
7 Mott
Ann Arbor, Michigan 48109

One thing we as Christians must do is to lift up those who are down. 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, tells us "Blessed be the God & Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, father of mercies & God of all comfort; who comforts us in all our affliction so that we may be able to comfort those who are in any affliction with the comfort with which we ourselves are comforted by God."

My heart goes out to anyone struggling with serious health problems & we know that prayer works, we also know that comfort from another believer means so much. Total healing would be nice but what ever the Lord has in store for this couple their prayer is that they will continue to be used by the Holy Spirit no matter what the out come.

Good idea - the more prayers the better. I checked out her care pages site (btw - you spelled her first name wrong, so it took a few minutes to get in) I'll be praying for her and her husband

Nancy, thanks for sharing this. I would love to send her a card, and of course to lift her in prayer. I cannot imagine what it would be like to be going through that. And you're right - it's our job as the body to take care of someone who's hurting.
